IMPORTANT PRODUCT INFO

There has been another firmware update issued for printers using HP 953XL and 903XL inkjets. Users are first asked to accept this update. If they do, current versions WILL NOT WORK.

These are the new firmware numbers that will not work:

HP 953: 2006BR/A
HP 903: 2006BR

Firmware versions can be checked in the printers menu in the settings

HP 903XL/953XL Firmware update Oct 9, 2023

HP released a firmware update on September 26, 2023 that impacts the HP inkjet cartridge range of 903XL/953XL.

How the firmware update is delivered:

  • This is a push update and can be installed with minimal user intervention
  • Installed cartridges will continue to operate but will not show ink levels
  • All current chips and cartridges are impacted
  • Galway Cartridge recommends all customers turn automatic updates off.
